Just Like Moms Scalloped Potatoes
Scalloped potatoes are a cozy, old‑fashioned comfort dish that transforms thinly sliced potatoes into something irresistibly creamy and tender, baked slowly in a rich sauce until the top turns beautifully golden. The dish traces its origins to European cooking—particularly English and French kitchens—where layered potato bakes became a practical way to stretch simple ingredients into hearty, satisfying meals. Over time, scalloped potatoes evolved into a beloved staple in American home cooking, celebrated for their warmth, simplicity, and timeless appeal.
